It would be handy if there could be some trail left behind when a post is deleted as now I am left wondering if I posted it properly or why I cant find it. But I dont actually know it was deleted I just cant find it. If, it was deleted please tell me why so I can learn.
As I recall, you were looking for a DOS application to run in Windows XP in order to prevent a screensaver from starting
Aside from the fact that it's kind of a silly question (just disable the screensaver, mmm'kay) this is in fact the DOS forum and has NOTHING to do with Windows XP
It's a well kept secret, but not all command lines are DOS - XP has a command prompt that 'emulates' DOS
(there used to be a notice at the top of the board)
You would be better advised to post such questions either in the Windows forum of your choice, or programming
... anyhow, that's my take on things - - the webmaster or moderator can advise you more fully, particularly in regard to forum policies
{edited to add}:
Likely a Windows solution would be more applicable - I recall this old application, but I've never used it in XP
I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.
Yes, the warnings may of disappeared but basically this forum "SHOULD" deal with MS-DOS and compatable standalone O/S (ie MS-DOS6 and earlier, FreeDOS, PC-DOS 2000 and earlier, DR-DOS 7.xx and earlier etcetc), not Windows NT based O/Ses or the COMMAND LINE within an O/S.
It would appear the forum moderator has felt that your post was not applicable to this forum, I presume it is because you are running Windows XP!
OK , I did have a DOS program 20 years ago that would insert a space bar entry every 5 minutes thus preventing the screen saver from kicking in , are you saying that this old DOS program if I still had it wouldnt run in the XP dos environmen because of the limitations of the DOS emulator in XP?
I am unable to adjust the screen saver setting in XP on the computer in question because it has been locked out.
ii) Failure to state the real issue (instead of your less-than-ideal 'solution')
Get ye to the XP forums forthwith and bare your soul there

Yes, but Windows XP NTVDM (New Technology Virtual Dos Machine) is not MS-DOS par-se, therefore it is still an XP forum question as you are using XP as your O/S.
Because the software may be written 20 years ago is irrelelevent!!
"since I am not an administrator for that machine. "
So, really, you're hoping to circumvent the security policy on a machine that is not yours
I'm pretty sure that's a violation of site policy here as well - it certainly sounds shady to me
"I am looking for a DOS program that is why I am looking on the DOS Forum."
Circular logic - you're in the wrong place, asking for the wrong thing, for a computer you apparently have no rights to
"I am forced to work in dos."
You're. not. listening. - - there. is. no. DOS. in. XP. mmm'kay?
Go in peace (but go already)

It's doubtful that a program running on a DOS virtual machine in XP will have any effect upon the state of the Windows screensaver
The real issue is that you don't have rights on that computer - - otherwise... there would be no problem
